Delete your Jotstamp data

You can delete your Jotstamp account and everything stored with it at any time, from the app or from this website. Deletion happens straight away. Without an account, Jotstamp stores nothing on its servers, and your logs live only on your phone.

Delete your account and its data

In the app

1. Open the menu (top left) and tap Settings.
2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
3. Confirm with Delete.

On the web, if you no longer have the app

1. Go to jotstamp.com/account.
2. Sign in with your email address and the code we email you.
3. Tap Delete my account and confirm.

By email: write to privacy@jotstamp.com from the address you sign in with, asking us to delete your account. We'll do it within 30 days and reply when it's done.

What's deleted

• Your account: email address and name.
• Everything synced or backed up: logs, folders, entries, tags and space names.
• Pictures stored for sync.
• Shared spaces you own, with everything in them, for everyone in them.
• Your membership of other people's shared spaces, and invites you created.
• Your plan, your backup device record and your monthly Ask question count.
• Usage analytics linked to your account, in our analytics provider (PostHog).

What's kept, and for how long

• Entries you wrote in someone else's shared space stay in that space, which belongs to its owner, but without your name. To remove them, delete them in the app before deleting your account.
• Anonymous usage analytics from before you signed in, or with no account, aren't linked to you and are kept in aggregate. Turn them off any time in Settings → Share analytics and crash reports.
• Crash reports are deleted automatically within 90 days.
• Logs on your phone stay on your phone. Jotstamp works without an account; uninstall the app or clear its storage to remove them.
• Backups: our database backups roll over, so deleted data is gone from them within 30 days.
• Purchases: if you bought Jotstamp Pro, the purchase record is kept by Google Play under Google's own policies.

Delete some data and keep your account

• An entry: long-press it and tap Delete.
• A log: open the menu, tap ⋮ next to the log, then Delete. Its entries go with it.
• A space: open the menu, tap the space name at the bottom, then Delete space.

When you delete something, its content is removed from our servers the next time the app syncs. We keep only a record that it was deleted (an id and a time), so your other devices remove it too. Pictures are removed from our storage when you delete your account; to have a picture removed sooner, email us.
